…I present to you: Shrink. It’s very rare that I find two movies so close in views that really get to me. The Nines and Shrink are two of the best movies I have seen in a LONG LONG time. I hope you all check them out.

Alright, I was going to do a post on what the hell happened to Jessica Simpson but I got sidetracked. I’m about two years late on this but whatever, just saw it tonight. If you haven’t seen the movie “The Nines” you gotta go Netflix it! Seriously one of the better movies I have seen in a while. Its funny, compelling, creepy, and haunting at times. Ryan Reynolds really finds his stride outside of comedy in his role as three different entities (you have to watch to find out what I mean by that). Outside of that, the soundtrack is amazing. Some films don’t pull a lot from their soundtracks, this movie seems almost defined by it at times. I don’t want to say too much more in case any of you want to go find it and watch it. Comes highly recommended by yours truly.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY! Ah, the day has finally arrived! Halloween is one of my very favorite days of the year. In order to get properly amped up for my special day, I went and saw Zombieland last night. The box office numbers for the film have been somewhat less than impressive, and the movie hasnt had a ton of press as far as I can tell…but as far as I am concerned, this movie is something special!

Not your avarage zombie movie spoof. Sure there have been some zombie movie spoofs (many) but this one gets the job done. It has everything you would expect #1 gaping plot holes that lead to bigger guns and more ammunition #2 running zombies #3 an unhealthy obsession with Twinkies #4 a budding romance for an awkward virgin #5 Bill Murry.

On top of everything else, the cast is great. I feel like Michael Cera would have been great in this movie, but Jesse Eisenberg filled his role more than adequately. Woody Harrelson is perfect for his role as a zombie killing psychopath, and Emma Stone has officially solidified herself in my mind has one of the hottest new actresses in Hollywood. This is one of the most underrated movies I’ve seen in a long time. Make sure to go out and see this one in theaters before its too late! Check out the trailer below…and happy haunting…..

Halloween and nearly upon us, and people are getting ready to get scared. Paranormal Activity came out a week or two ago after quite an impressive grassroots campaign (I will likely do a separate post on this). The movie was allegedly shot for $15,000 in the director’s (Oren Peli) own home back in 2007. Steven Spielberg caught wind of the project and then Paramount scooped up the project, paying $300,000 for North American distribution rights. Anyways, the point is have you looked at the box office numbers? The Movie has grossed somewhere in the neighborhood of $65 mil, making it one of the most lucrative horror films ever produced in the history of film.
BUT
The weird thing is everrrryyyooonee who goes to see it says it’s terrible and isn’t scary at all. You are all fucking liars. Based off the campaign ALONE you are all fucking liars. The only reason this movie is even IN theaters is because people thought it was scary as shit and demanded it be moved to bigger venues. The main argument I hear is that people say its not scary because it’s “fake”. No way. It’s fake? Holy fuck, I totally must have missed that part. Here I thought a couple had put a camera in their room, and this woman had actually become possessed. Buzz kill.
I guess my point is, Paranormal Activity scared the shit out of you, and you know it. Take a look at the trailer and go see it if you haven’t already. I’ll get back to making fun of crack addicts and debating the contents of lint in my next post.
